EFT Tapping for the Fear of Public SpeakingYou know one of the most common fears is the fear of public speaking. In fact on most top 10 lists, the fear of public speaking is listed ahead of the fear of death.

At one time, I could totally relate to that. I used to be very uncomfortable with public speaking and would get sweaty and shaky, I would blush and contemplate making up any excuse to get out of standing up in front of a room full of people to talk.

Three things have helped me immensely in overcoming this fear. First is being prepared. If I have to give a talk that lasts more than a few minutes, I make sure I’m prepared with what I’m going to say. Second is practice. At one time I was a member of Toastmasters. If you haven’t heard of it, look it up on google and you might want to join a club so that you can get some practice with public speaking. Everyone there had a fear of public speaking at one time and are there to overcome it and become confident speakers so it’s a very supportive group. The third and most effective thing I did to overcome my fear was to tap. Tapping is the best technique I know of to overcome strong, anxious emotions.

Even now, I tap before I have to speak to take the edge off. So, if you’ve got a talk that you need to give, live and in person or, if you’re about to tele-class or are trying to muster the courage to record a YouTube video, do some tapping first.

Starting at the karate chop point…

Even though I have this fear of speaking in public, I deeply and completely accept myself

Even though I feel anxious about giving this talk, what if someone doesn’t like what I have to say, or I forget part of my speech, I choose to release this anxiety

Even though I’m nervous about having to do this talk, I don’t want to do it, I might make a fool of myself, I forgive myself and honour my feelings

This anxiety about getting up and talking in public
I feel so anxious about it
I don’t want to do it
What if I lose control and start to panic
What if I forget what I’m supposed to say?
Or what if someone in the audience heckles me
I just don’t want to do it
…………………………………………….
All this anxiety
I can feel it in my body
My breathing feels restricted
I’m having trouble thinking clearly
But I’m open to letting this anxiety go
It’s safe to let this anxiety go
What’s the worst that can happen?
…………………………………………
Maybe I will forget part of my speech
And go blank in front of a room full of people
But I can have my notes nearby
And I don’t need to be perfect
Even professional speakers lose their place sometimes
And forget parts of their speech
So, it’s okay if I forget some of mine

And maybe my anxiety will help give me energy and enthusiasm for my talk
It shows that I care about sharing my message
And I don’t have to be perfect
It’s safe to not be perfect
But I choose to do my best
And my best is good enough
Maybe I can allow myself to feel calm and confident

I choose to feel calm and confident while giving my talk
I am allowing myself to relax
I am allowing my breathing to relax
And I am allowing my body to relax
And I know that once I get started with my talk, I will be okay
I’m feeling open to giving a great talk and feeling confident
I can do this and I choose to have fun with it

So my hope is this tapping video has helped you and that you will go forward and feel more relaxed and confident in everything you do. It is good to stretch yourself outside of your comfort zone but it doesn’t have to be excruciatingly uncomfortable when you can tap on that discomfort.

Being open to MONEY coming from UNEXPECTED places

EFT Tapping for being open to money from unexpected placesYou know in working with entrepreneurs around their money issues when we talk about being open to money coming from unexpected places, one common fear is that money might come from a negative place like from an inheritance or a disability payment or a lump sum payment in a layoff.

In fact I’ve seen people get quite hostile about being open to money coming from unexpected places because they are convinced that the only way extra money can come to them is through some sort of tragedy. Can you see how a belief like this might be pinching off the flow of money for you?

In my own life, I’ve had money show up many times from unexpected places that were not at all negative as a result of working on my own money mindset. In fact, several months ago I received a nice affiliate commission cheque that I wasn’t expecting.

Years ago I was big into promoting products online as an affiliate. And I guess at some point, the company whose products I had been promoting had changed their terms of service which required acknowledgement of the change and completing some online paperwork. Since I had moved on to other things, I had been ignoring the emails from them for months and all the while affiliate commissions were piling up and not being released to me because I had not accepted their new terms. Finally one day, I opened one of their emails and discovered I had all this money sitting there and so of course, I completed the necessary paperwork and the money was released to me.

Also, to share another story with you, my hubby is in the habit of buying lottery tickets and just leaving them under a magnet on the fridge. He never checks them, he just seems to like to collect them. So, every now and then, I will collect the pile from the fridge and check them at the corner store. For a long time, this was just part of my process for keeping a clean and tidy house but now it’s because I regularly get a nice surprise. In the past before working on my money blocks, out of 20 or 30 tickets, we might win one free play. Now, out of 20 to 30 tickets 4 or 5 of them will be winners. Now usually it’s $10 – $20 but add that up and it has been as much as $60 in unexpected money.

So why don’t we do some tapping on this fear of unexpected money coming from negative places so that we can increase your flow.

Even though I am uncomfortable with being open to money coming from unexpected places, I deeply and completely accept myself

Even though I worry that if I’m open to money coming from somewhere unexpected, that it will come from mine or someone else’s tragedy, I’m open to letting go of this worry

Even though I believe that if I’m open to money coming from unexpected places, bad things might happen, I choose to be open to releasing this belief

I worry that money might come from something bad happening
I can’t see money coming unexpectedly from something positive
If money doesn’t come from an inheritance
Or from an accident
Or from something else negative
Then where is it going to come from?
I just can’t fathom where unexpected money might come from otherwise

But what if I’m blocking money from coming to me in a positive way?
All this fear around money might be holding me back
I’m open to releasing this fear
And expecting it to come from something positive
Whether I’ve worked for it or not
Because money can show up in a positive way
Without the exchange of time for that money
………………………………………………….
I choose to release this fear around money
And the fear of money coming to me from some tragedy
Or only feeling deserving of it in exchange for my time and efforts
I’m open to money coming to me from unexpected positive places
And I’m open to attracting opportunities to earn more
Money supports me in a positive way
I am grateful for all that I have and all that is coming to me

EFT tapping for being jealous of another person's successHave you ever felt jealous of someone else’s success? I know I have so you probably have too at some point in the past. The thing is though, if you feel jealous of someone else’s success and/or accomplishments then it’s because you don’t believe it’s possible for you to have the same.

So jealousy is definitely not a good energy or emotion to have when you are working on manifesting more money or success into your life. It’s self-defeating and it’s like you are sending a message to the Universe right off the bat that you know those results aren’t possible for you.

Furthermore, if you are jealous of someone else’s success and thinking nasty thoughts about them then, you probably also have an unconscious fear that if you are successful yourself, it will make others jealous and uncomfortable and say nasty things about you. Can you see how this emotion can be holding you back?

Let’s try and clear out the jealousy with some tapping shall we?

First, I would like you to get a clear picture in your mind of the person you are jealous of or maybe someone you’ve been jealous of in the past.

See them there surrounded by their success, their money, looking happy or contented with their accomplishments and notice how you feel looking at them.

Let’s begin…

Even though I’m feeling jealous of their achievements, I deeply and completely forgive myself.

Even though looking at them I feel despair, anger, resentment and more, I deeply and completely honour myself and all of my feelings.

Even though I should be standing there, enjoying all that success, I worry that others will be jealous of me and I deeply and completely love and forgive myself.

These jealous feelings
Success seemed to come so easily for them
Why can’t that be me?
I don’t like feeling this jealousy
But at the same time, I have a hard time feeling happy for them
How come I’m not attracting the same or better?
Maybe I’m somehow blocking my own success
………………………………….
I’m open to releasing these jealous feelings
I know that it’s probably not helping me to hang on to these jealous feelings
So I’m open to letting this jealousy go
Maybe it will help me to attract more of what I want
Or at the very least, I will feel more peace and calm within myself
And, be more resourceful in finding my own success
I choose to release these jealous feelings

Take a deep breath and let it out and now go back to the picture of the person you were feeling jealous of and the emotion should now be less intense. Keep tapping until you feel like you’ve gotten down to a 2 on the intensity scale with 10 being the highest.
Then, let’s tap on any worry that others might become jealous of your own success.

I worry that others will be jealous of my success
They might think evil thoughts about me
Not like me anymore
Or want to sponge off me
Or want to sabotage my efforts somehow
I’m open to releasing this worry
I can see how this worry that others will be jealous of my success is holding me back
………………………………….
So I’m open to letting go of this worry
I’m not responsible for how others feel
And my success will be an example to others of what is also possible for them
It’s safe to embrace my success
I’m choosing to let go of this worry that others will be jealous of my success
Maybe they will be happy for me
And if they are not, it’s none of my business
………………………………….
I’m choosing to be comfortable with my own success
And happy for everyone else’s success
My time is now and I am ready
I am ready to embrace success
And feel comfortable and confident in my abilities
And allow others to enjoy their own success
I love feeling successful

EFT Tapping with Gratitude to Manifest Your GoalsIn today’s post I wanted to share some tips on incorporating gratitude into your day. Gratitude is the most powerful emotion for manifesting your desires. So, you might have read or heard that when it comes to the Law of Attraction, being grateful in advance for a goal you want to achieve will help you to manifest it.

But being grateful in advance for something that is not yet in your life is pretty hard. So, be grateful for whatever is already part of your reality. For example, be grateful for the simple things like a comfy bed to sleep in, your job or business income, your family, your pet, the food you get to eat, etc. And, be especially grateful for little miracles that happen to you each day such as a pleasant phone call or meeting with a client (regardless of the outcome) or be grateful for a hassle free drive to your office, sunny weather, a great workout at the gym….you get the idea.

You can tap in these things you are grateful for on a daily basis and as a result, more easily get into the manifesting vibration for achieving your goals. Now, if you do not feel good most days due to an injury or illness or too much stress in your life then this might not be the right time for you to follow along with this video and I would recommend instead that you tap on the reasons you are not feeling good at this time. Tap on the pain, the stress, anxiety or whatever. But if you generally feel good most days then this tapping exercise is for you.

I am grateful for all that is good in my life
I’m grateful for my health
I’m grateful for my family
I’m grateful for my growing bank account
I’m grateful for my friends
I’m grateful that I’m safe
I love feeling grateful

(Take a deep breath and breathe it all in and out)

I’m feeling so much gratitude for the love in my life
I’m grateful for the dreams I have for my future
I’m grateful for all the support I get
I love that I have comfortable place to live
I love my comfy bed that
I am grateful for the food that I eat
I am grateful for the sunny skies and warm weather

(Take a deep breath and let it out)

I am grateful when it rains or snows because sometimes it’s nice to have a break from the heat
I am grateful for air conditioning and swimming pools on hot days
And, I’m grateful for central heating and insulation on cold days
I’m grateful that I have a car to drive and money to spend
I’m grateful for the skills that I possess and the future that is before me
I’m grateful for learning new things and stretching out of my comfort zone
I’m grateful for the success I’ve had so far

EFT Tapping for money vs affirmationsIn this post, I wanted to address a question that comes up a lot with clients who are new to tapping for releasing money blocks. The question pertains to affirmations.

Those who are new to tapping are often confused as to why you tap on the negative. The reality is that there are negative beliefs and emotions under the surface of those affirmations that will derail your efforts…unless of course you are manifesting your affirmations effortlessly which the majority of folks are not.

In the tapping world, these are what we call “tail-enders”. So for example, if I were dissatisfied with how tall I am at 5’7” and wanted to be shorter then I might affirm, I am 5’4”, I am 5’4” but in the background my mind is going “no way, that will never happen” then what I am actually affirming, is that I will never be 5’4”. Now that is an extreme example but you get the point.

With money goals, the thoughts or beliefs that are often lurking in the subconscious mind are “that’s impossible”, “it’s too much work”, “I’ll never achieve that”, “I don’t know how to get there” and so on. So, guess what you are affirming? You got it because there is an emotion tied to those negative, unsupportive beliefs, you need to tap them out before you can achieve your goals. That’s why tapping is also known as EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique.
So, you will find that your affirmations will work much better for you if you tap out the negative emotions, thoughts and beliefs first.

Now when it comes to generic affirmations such as “Every day and in every way, life is getting better and better” there is usually no subconscious thoughts unless of course you just got fired from your job or had to just put your pet to sleep. In these cases, your subconscious is going to rebel big time.

But an affirmation like this is so generic that if you want to increase your income, you will have a hard time because you have no specific goal set. As the saying goes, if you have no destination, how will you be able to get there and, the Universe, God, Your Angels, Your Higher Power won’t know how to help you either.

I recommend setting a SMART goal and once you tap out the negative (and you might have to tap for several rounds) then you can use an affirmation like, “I earn $1000 a day” or whatever.

You can also tap in your positive affirmations and again, they will work better if you tap on the negative beliefs first but if you don’t want to do that or aren’t even sure what your negative beliefs are, then just tap on the positive several times a day and see what happens. Close your eyes and check in with yourself and see if you are feeling more optimistic over time. If so, then that’s great!
