How to Feel More Confident Selling Your Services

The more you can build up your level of confidence the better you’re going be able to present yourself, the more sales you’re going make and, the more money you’re going to make. Confidence is a really important step on the way to success, but if you are feeling a little less confidence at this stage of your business, don’t worry, you will feel better over time with experience but this post is about getting you there faster.

Let’s say you’re in a buying situation and the person that you’re considering making a purchase from is all awkward, and uncomfortable, and not showing much confidence, you sort of start to doubt that they can really offer what they say they can.

Below are four tips that can help you to feel more confident when you’re in sales situations, selling your products, or services so that you can earn more money.

Use a visualization technique to help you connect with success. A lot of people do talk about visualization, and visualizing success, but I’m going to add a little twist here, and suggest that you try and channel a mentor of yours, or somebody who’s already successful and whose work you really enjoy, and who has the enthusiasm that you’d like to be able to convey in your own presentations, or sales situations. Just take a few minutes to imagine how they would react in a situation like that. How they would feel. How they would present themselves.

Try and channel that same energy when you’re in those situations. Really get into it and pretend. Pretend like when you were a kid. Same situation here. When you’re in a selling situation just pretend. Pretend that you’re more confident. Step outside of yourself and try and channel your mentor, or somebody that you respect who’s in your industry.

Recognize that failure can help you to build your confidence. As odd as it may sound, commit to failing your way to success. Why? Because you can learn from failure. Unfortunately, we are programmed from a very young age to feel shame whenever we make a mistake when mistakes are actually very beneficial to us, as long as we take the lesson from them. If we can reflect on what we might’ve done incorrectly, or what we might’ve done wrong, and how we can do better next time then it’s just a learning opportunity.

So start framing failures, or mistakes as opportunities to learn. As long as you do that then there’s no such thing as failure. Again, we are programmed to feel shame from a young age when we make mistakes in school.

My mother was super bright, super intelligent, and she was also a straight A student when she was in school. So when I would come home from school with my report card and I’d have some As, some Bs, some Cs. So being that my mother was a straight A student, she focused a lot of attention, and criticism unfortunately on the Bs and the Cs. It kind of made me anxious as a kid about making a mistake, or anxious about not doing as well as my mother expected me to. As an adult, I had to let go of the fear of making mistakes and my need to be perfect. I learned that it’s persistence that wins the race, not perfection.

Let go of your fear of rejection. Recognize that not everyone is going to say yes, and just keep going. Persistence is key, and sales is a numbers game. The more you put yourself out there, the more you make those offers, the more you hear “no”, the more it will take the sting of rejection away. Think of it this way, “every no leads you closer to a yes”. It does often take seven touches or offers before someone will actually go ahead and make a buying decision with you because you need to build that no like trust factor.

Just being persistent and continuing to put yourself out there without worrying about failure, without worrying about making mistakes, without worrying about rejection, you will win.

In my first corporate sales job, this is going back quite a few years ago, I was an inside sales rep and I was selling financial services to businesses. We (myself and the other members on my team) would make anywhere between 40 and 50 phone calls per day to offer our services.

Not everybody said “yes” and in fact most people said “no” but there were enough people who said “yes” that we were very successful in selling our services. In fact, we were selling more than the outside sales people, because we had a large number of opportunities during the day to make offers.

So, just let go of the worry of rejection because ultimately it’s gonna take you to where you want to be, which is serving your customers with your gifts and talents in the best way you know how.

Use tapping to release any anxious feelings in sales situations. The final tip I want to share with you is about a technique to let go of those anxious feelings during sales situations in mere minutes. It’s a highly effective and proven mind/body tool called tapping. If you haven’t heard of it I encourage you to learn more about it because it is life-changing.

4 Tips for Connecting with the Energy of Success

Connect with the energy of success

Mindset is so vitally important to creating a successful business that supports you, your clients and your lifestyle. But it’s often the last thing that entrepreneurs devote any time to in their daily business activities.

Mindset work really should be how you start off your day so that you feel more relaxed, focused, confident and creative as you go through your day. Read any success book and this is what they will tell you to do.

And your mindset work should help you to connect with the energy of success. Set the intention to connect with that energy rather than treating your mindset work as something you cross off your To Do List.

Here are 4 tips to help you connect with the energy of success:

  1. Get quiet – By getting quiet though meditation, you are better able to access your inner guidance or your higher power. This comes in handy when you are struggling with a problem or feeling overwhelmed. Your higher self knows the answer and the best path for you but with all the noise of social media, daily responsibilities and other distractions it can be hard to access this wisdom unless you take time to get quiet. Take just 5-10 minutes per day to focus on your breath and consciously relax. I like to use the Headspace meditation app.
  2. Cultivate the belief that it’s possible for you – Without the belief that you can and will succeed, you will have a hard time picking yourself up and dusting yourself off when the going gets tough. You will self sabotage and allow all those inner negative voices to take hold of your mindset and derail your efforts. It’s helpful to journal about all the times you’ve succeeded in the past. All the struggles you’ve overcome both in your personal and professional life so that you can remind yourself about how capable you actually are. Visualizing a successful outcome is one of the best ways program your mind for success. Make it a game so that it’s fun for you. For example, imagine the awesome celebration dinner your going to have with your significant other or best friend when you hit that next milestone in your business. Spend just 2-3 minutes imagining the scene and make it as vivid as possible. Hear your dinner partner congratulating you and feel how good it feels. Visualize this scene in a relaxed state at least once per day and you’ll be shocked at how quickly it becomes reality.
  3. Be grateful in advance – Keep a daily gratitude journal and write down 5 or 10 things you’re grateful for as well as 5 things you’re grateful for in advance of them happening. So if you have a goal to quit your 9 to 5 and go full time in your business, express your gratitude for being on the path to making that happen. Gratitude is a powerful emotion and without connecting with this emotion, our tendency is to focus on the negative. And contrary to what a lot of people will tell you, you don’t have to journal with pen and paper. I’ve found it just as effective to use an app to record my gratitude list. I like to use Penzu.
  4. Trust in the Universe – When we are struggling to reach a goal and have tried every marketing technique known to man (or woman), doubt can sometimes creep in around whether we are even cut out for this. At times like this, I like to remember that God doesn’t give you a dream without the ability to achieve it. I’m not sure where that quote came from but I heard it at a seminar years ago and I love it! I think that whenever there is struggle there is growth if you move through it but trusting in the Universe and having faith that you are meant to achieve your dreams is what gives you tenacity.

Tapping for Anxiety Around Paying Bills

tapping for anxiety when paying billsIn today’s video, I thought I would do a tapping for the anxiety you might feel when you’re paying your bills. I know that for me, way back when, when we were having our financial troubles, and we had a lot of debt, basically we were in a situation where we were borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.

Anytime I sat down to pay my bills, I had awful anxiety, and just would get really depressed and worried about the future. Anytime that a bill came in the mail, especially if it was unexpected, it would just throw me off right into a whole pile of negative emotion. So if you find that you feel that way, the best thing that you can do is shift those negative emotions and those negative beliefs, that you have around paying your bills, so that more abundance can come into your life. So, let’s just start tapping on that.

Starting at the karate chop point….

Even though I get really anxious when I have to pay my bills, I deeply and completely accept myself.

Even though anytime I sit down to pay my bills, I worry if there’s going to be enough in the bank account to pay them. I deeply and completely accept myself, and all my feelings.

Even though whenever it’s bill paying time, or when I go to the mail box, and find an unexpected bill, I get really upset, I get anxious, I get depressed, and I find myself worrying about the future. I’m open to letting go of this pattern now, and allowing in more abundance.

This anxiety when I pay the bills.
I get depressed, I get angry, and it just throws off my whole day.
I worry that we’re never going to get out of this.
That there’s not going to be enough money in the bank account, and it makes me anxious.
But I’m open to letting go of these emotions.
And these expectations, that there’s not going to be enough, I’m open to letting go of not enough.
And I’m open to a new reality with money.
One, where I can easily pay my bills, and one where there’s no anxiety, shame and no resentment when I go to pay my bills.
I’m open to feeling gratitude, for the service I received from those bill collectors.

I’ve got electricity, I’ve got heating and air conditioning, I’ve got phone and Internet, and I’m grateful for those services.
So I’m choosing to let go of all this anxiety, and all this resentment, that I feel towards these bill collectors, to these people that I owe.
And I’m open to letting go of the worry, that there won’t be enough in the account, to pay these bills. I’m choosing to let go of this anxiety, this worry, and this resentment around paying my bills.
And maybe every time I go to the mailbox I get anxious, wondering what kind of bill is going to be in there.
But I’m choosing to let that go.
And I’m opening up to abundance.
To feeling calm and confident, around my ability to pay my bills.

Getting all stressed out about it doesn’t help.
It doesn’t make me feel any better.
And so far, hasn’t created a new reality for me, so maybe if I let go of all these negative emotions, around paying my bills, things will start to shift, and more abundance will come in.
I’m open to this possible reality.
I welcome this new reality.
One where it’s easy for me to pay my bills, and where I feel good about getting it out of the way.
And maybe something where an activity where I feel grateful, for the service I’ve received.

Tapping for Upset Over Negative Social Media Comments

Today our topic is tapping on negative social media comments that upset you. If you’re active on social media at all, like me, you’ve probably from time to time received a negative comment about something that you’ve posted and despite hundreds of positive comments, that one negative comment can sometimes get to you, and I know it has gotten to me. You tend to focus on that and get angry about it and start questioning yourself and wondering if you’ve done something wrong or how you might be able to do things better. But, in any case, we tend to focus too much on it.

If you’re not like that and you can just blow it off and let it roll off your back like water rolls off a duck’s back, then that’s awesome. This video isn’t for you. But if you do get triggered by negative comments that people make on your social media channels, let’s see if we can tap out the negative emotions that come up when that happens. Okay?

We’re going to start on the karate chop point.

Even though it affects me when people make negative comments about information I’m sharing, I deeply and completely accept myself.
Even though I get upset and I obsess when someone makes a negative comment on my social media, even if I’ve had hundreds of positive comments in the past, I deeply and completely accept myself.
Even though I get triggered, I get angry, I get annoyed, I get upset when someone makes a negative comment and I take it as a criticism.

I’m choosing to let go of this tendency to react to these negative comments because it’s not really about me.
More often than not, it’s about them and some pain that they’re experiencing in their own life. So, I’m choosing to let this go, this tendency to get upset over negative comments.
Letting go of this upset, releasing any negative emotions I feel when somebody makes a negative comment on my social media.
I’m choosing to release any upset, any reaction that I feel to negative comments on my social media because the truth is it’s not about me.
It’s usually about them that they have some unconscious issue that’s being triggered by you.
So, I’m choosing to let this go, this tendency to get upset.
If someone makes a negative comment on my social media, especially when I’m trying to offer content that’s helpful to people, it makes me kind of angry.

It upsets me.

Nobody likes criticism, especially when it’s not constructive, when it’s a personal attack perhaps on the way you speak or the way you look.
I’ve had that too, believe me.
But I’m choosing to let go of this upset because it’s not about me.
It’s about them.
Even though I want to tell them to F off, I can totally do that, not publicly on social media though.
But I can just mentally tell them to F off if that makes me feel better, but I’m choosing to release any negative emotions that this causes me to feel because it’s not about me.

So, maybe I can find a way to love them where they’re at because they’ve probably got some unconscious issues or some traumas in their past that causes them to behave that way.
Maybe I can let in a little bit of compassion and release this negative reaction that I have when somebody makes a negative comment.
I’m choosing to let go of this tendency to react negatively, and letting in feeling loving kindness, because maybe that person is hurting or having a lousy day.
I don’t know about you but I was always taught if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.
So, I do get kind of flabbergasted when someone says something really negative.
But maybe they’ve had a rough life.
So, I’m choosing to let go of these judgments and my tendency to react and get upset by negative comments.

I’m open to allowing in compassion and understanding because maybe they’ve got it really rough.
And can’t see a way to feel better, and maybe putting down others makes them feel better.
In any case, it’s not about me, so I’m choosing to let go of this tendency.
This tendency to get upset.
This tendency to judge
And instead I’m letting in feeling loving compassion.
Feeling relaxed, and maybe extending a loving hand to help them
With whatever issue they might be having or just ignore it entirely.
But I’m letting go any reaction I have to the negativity, releasing this reaction to the negativity.

Eliminate the Belief that It’s Not Safe for Me to Have Money

“It’s Not Safe for Me to Have Money”

tapping on the belief that it's not safe to have a lot of moneyThanks for visiting my blog today. Have you ever had the inkling that it’s not safe for you to have money?

Of course this is a limiting negative belief that you need to eliminate if you want prosperity and abundance in your life and business. So where does this belief come from?

It might be that you’ve only ever been exposed to rich people on television and media who were mean and ruthless. In that case, you might worry that you would become a crazy bitch if you were to become financially successful.

Or, perhaps you worry that you will become the target of criticism or that someone will want to take all your financial prosperity if you succeed.

So, start by sitting with this statement, “It’s not safe for me to have money” and give it a rating on a scale from 1 – 10 (with 10 being the highest) and see if it feels true for you.

The truth is that we will avoid anything we fear like the plague. So if you do resonate with the above statement at all, if you are in pursuit of financial abundance at all, you will be stopped in your tracks.

Even though I have this belief that it’s not it’s not safe for me to have money and there might be various reasons for this, I’m open to letting this belief go now.
Even though it’s not safe for me to have a lot of money, I’m not sure where this comes from or maybe I do know where this comes from, in either case, I am choosing to release this belief now because I know that it’s holding me
back.

This belief that it’s not safe for me to have a lot of money
I’m choosing to let it go
Because I know it’s holding me back
And it’s just a belief
With no basis in fact
And maybe I’ve just never been exposed
To wealthy people who are nice

Wealthy people who are spiritual
Wealthy people who are calm, cool and collected
Wealthy people who have it all together
And who are giving, supportive souls
I’m sure there are a lot of rich, successful people like that out there
So I’m open to this limiting belief being false
And I’m choosing to let it go

Because I recognize that it’s not serving me
And it’s not supporting me in my goals to earn more
So I’m choosing to let go of this belief
This belief that it’s not safe to earn more money
It’s a limiting belief
It’s negative
And it’s not serving me

So I’m choosing to let it go
And it’s not like I’m going to have a huge windfall overnight
I will get used to each incremental increase in income
So I’m choosing to be open to it being safe
For me to earn more money
Or even a lot more money
Earning a lot more money sounds great

It will allow me more freedom
More choice
And a greater ability to serve my market
Whatever that market may be
So I’m choosing to release this belief
That it’s not safe for me to have money
I’m a good steward of my money

I’m letting in this new belief
That it’s safe for me to have money
That I can manage more of it
That I can do a lot more good things with it
Like donate to my favourite charity
So I’m choosing to let go of this limiting belief
And accept that it’s safe for me to have a lot of money

Take a deep breath and let it out. Keep tapping on this video to chip away at this belief as we sometimes need to do to neutralize all the emotions that are attached.
